New Wave Thugs:
Rapitalism Records is issuing an advisory alert.
Discretion is a thing of the past. With the release of the uncompromising "Niggaz and White Girlz," labelmates Kirby Dominant and Chris Sinister render their thugged-out interpretation of '80s and new wave music featuring DJ Icewater. Kirb and Chris turn tracks from groups like The Cure, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, B-52s, U2, and Gary Numan into a non-stop
soundtrack for New Wave Thuggin'.
"We didn't want to make a mixtape like a lot of
those other rappers out here, who rap over whatever's hot at the time," Kirby
explains. "Those beats are flash-in-the-pan. We decided to do something different
and rhyme over the music that we actually are into. The Dominant sound is a mixture
of musical instruments and '80s pop-synth influences. It's all about breaking taboos."
"Using this type of stuff gives people who don't like rap a way to instantly identify
with the music," Chris adds. "We tried to use more obscure tracks by known artists."
